Formulated from years of original research, Aqualyte provides proven hydration for sport. The low sugar, hypotonic rapid absorption formula and scientifically balanced electrolyte replacement makes Aqualyte a high performance electrolyte drink for the prevention of dehydration.

Why is Aqualyte different?

Human blood and body fluids have an osmolality of approximately 290mosmol/L. Most sports electrolyte drinks are of similar osmolality value (ISOTONIC) or higher (HYPERTONIC). The result is the drink leaving the stomach slowly, often causing a feeling of fullness or bloating from slower absorption into the body. Aqualyte electrolyte drink is a HYPOTONIC solution with an osmolality of 150mosmol/L.

Features

  • Prevents dehydration. Rapidly absorbed keeping pace with sweat loss.
  • Prevents fatigue. Contains appropriate levels of glucose to help prevent fatigue. Delays the onset of fatigue.
  • Low Calorie. Contains fewer calories than other drinks, cordials and soft drinks.
  • Maintains the correct electrolyte balance.
  • Less acidic than many other drinks making it better for oral health.
  • Aids concentration in work and sport, which many caffeine rich drinks can compromise.
  • Suitable for children and adults.

Aqualyte is sold in dry crystal form.

  1. Mix with the recommended volume of water to create a hypotonic electrolyte drink.

When mixing larger quantities

  1. Put a quarter of the water into the container and mix Aqualyte until fully dissolved.
  2. Add the remaining water stirring or shaking occasionally.
  3. If adding ice, to get the concentration right – take into account the volume of ice being used. 2kg of ice is approximately 2 litres of water so for a 20 litre container (800g sachet of Aqualyte) add 18 litres of water and 2kg of ice.

Aqualyte can be easily kept in the fridge for up to 2 weeks once made up. Consume Aqualyte throughout working shifts and sports activity in proportion to sweat loss. Do not rely on thirst as an indicator of the need for fluid replacement.
